Pride despite poverty

I had just jumped off the ferry in Kerala when I met this woman sitting on the boat bridge. Her face, with all the wrinkles and the pride she radiates in her almost blind eyes, is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I was allowed to take a portrait, and to this day, it is definitely my favorite portrait. The dignity and life experience painted on her face is simply fascinating.
